Mr R E Reynolds spent the first 14 years of his professional working life in 5 years as an Architect’s Articled Pupil in general practice, 4 years with a National Building Contractor engaged on Air Ministry and Local Authority prefabricated housing, and 5 years with a large Architectural Practice specialising in Hospitals, Air Ministry and Further Education design works.

He set up Arnold Design Associates in 1971, designing houses for Individual Clients and small to medium scale Building Contractors, small works for Health Authorities, Nursing and Residential Care homes, Industrial Buildings, Agricultural Buildings, grant aided work for ethnic groups, and a miscellany of other building projects.
Architectural Certification has been provided as a service continuously since 1975.

Between 1989 and 1992 he was employed by the Planning Inspectorate as a part-time Appeals Inspector.
Up to retirement from General Practice in 2003, he was also engaged in new build and refurbishment works for Churches, small Housing developments, Pub and Hotel projects.
